Upon receiving my Ph. D. in Biology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University I taught for six years at a small private college in Massachusetts, Merrimack College.  After six years at Merrimack College and after the birth of our first child, my wife and I moved back to North Carolina to be close to family.  At this time, Fall 2001, I was hired to teach Science at Dixon High School.  I remained at Dixon High coaching Football and Track and Field for seven years.  I transferred to Richlands High in 2008 to be closer to home and activities with my wife and daughter.  In my 16 years in the Onslow County School system, I have taught Earth and Environmental Science, Biology, AP Biology, Physical Science, Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, AP Earth and Environmental Science.  In addition, as of the 2015-16 season I am currently the head swim coach at Richlands High.
