After retiring in 1996, I returned to college and graduated from East Carolina University in December 1999 with a BS in Business Education and a minor in Economics and in December 2002 with a MAEd in Business Education.


I currently teach Microsoft Word and PowerPoint and Multimedia and Webpage Design at Richlands High School in Richlands, NC.  I am also the Career Development Coordinator where I supervise the Internship Programs.  I taught Business and Career Management courses at Southwest High School for 11 1/2 years.  I served on the state curriculum team to develop the Digital Communication Systems course and on the state performance evaluation team. I am one of the advisors for FBLA.  I am the Past President of the North Carolina Business Education Association for the 2006-2007 and 2014-2015 school years.  In 2006 I was inducted into the North Carolina Business and Information Technology Hall of Fame.  In the 2009-2010 school year I was the Teacher of the Year for Southwest High School and one of the finalists for Teacher of the Year in Onslow County. 



I am a retired Marine Chief Warrant Officer-3 where I served as a Personnel/Administrative Officer. I served in Operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield during the Gulf War. After retiring in 1996, I returned to college. I live in Richlands, NC with my wife, Marsha who is a Professional Photographer. My oldest son, Jet, graduated from East Carolina University in 2006 majoring in Industrial Distribution and Logistics. My youngest son, Steven, graduated from N. C. State University in 2011 majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering and is currently working on his Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering at Wright State University.
