Assistant Principal

Welcome Wildcats!

I am very excited to be apart of the Wildcat family!  This is my 2nd year at Richlands High School.  Previously I have worked as an Exceptional Children’s Program Coach for Onslow County Schools and Exceptional Children’s Teacher/ Department Chair at Northside High School.  I love the rich traditions of "the Lands" and serving the community of Richlands.

A little about me, I am an Onslow County and North Carolina Native.  My family and I are from the Swansboro/ Belgrade area.  I attended Salem College in Winston Salem, North Carolina for my Bachelors of Arts in Education with a concentration in Special Education and minors in History and Religion.  I worked in Forsyth County teaching Occupational Course of Studies and Adaptive curriculum. I lived oversees in USAG Bamberg, Germany.  There I taught inclusion k-6th grade.   I spent many years traveling overseas and teaching until the Army brought me home to Swansboro/Belgrade area.  I then taught at Northside High School starting in 2012 as an Inclusion, Resource, and Occupational Course of Studies teacher as well as Exceptional Children’s Department Chair.  I earned my graduate degree of a Masters of Education in School Administration from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia in 2014.  Since earning my Masters of Education I have worked as an Exceptional Children’s Program Coach and now Assistant Principal for Richland’s High School.

I have two children.  I love serving our community and going on adventures and trips!

If I can be of any assistance please don’t hesitate to contact me.  I look forward to a great 2017-2018 school year in Wildcat County!

Thank you,

Mrs. Frances Banther-Turner
